About the event
This 2 hour course is specifically for Carterton District Council staff and is a great way to get back into biking or to build more confidence. The course will start in a traffic free area at Carrington Park.
Skills covered will include helmet and bike check and fit, starting and stopping safely, turning, looking all around and signalling, using gears and stopping quickly with control. There will also be the opportunity to try out the Council's fleet e-bike. Then we will head out for a short ride on quiet roads with the opportuity to practice some additional skills (e.g. riding position, passing parked vehicles, hazard awareness).
BYO bike and helmet if possible. We can also help get your bike running smoothly if it hasn't been used for a while!
